Ceramic Box Project

My piece is based off of a series called Goodnight Punpun by Inio Asano. There additions are the hands w/ horns, the bird on top, & there's a pyramid in the back as well. The colors are just black and white (glossy). The black hands fade into the white box from behind & the inside of the box is completely black.

I used the colors yellow, two shades of blue and, pink. I put a dragon fly and flower on each side of my box.

I just wanted something related to nature and my clearest option was a tree that is something simple.

I was inspired by pandora’s box, so inside is the greek word for hope. I added the snake to make it a bit more dramatic, and the “handle” on top is a two headed snake which represents time in mayan culture.

I made my piece based on the cakes that have a shape of a heart. I made sure that the frosting was visible and the cherries were vibrant and stood out!

This box is Jack and the Beanstalk themed. It has the beanstalk wrapping around the whole box, along with clouds scattered around. With the light blue base this creates the illusion that it’s in the sky just like the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. It also has a pink butterfly flying up with a house on the top to function as a handle. The clouds and details on the leaves are the carved elements while the house, butterfly, and beanstalk are my other additions.

Box that looks like cheese. Orange and yellow glaze. Looks like cheese 👍.

My Box has a theme of whales and seahorses as well as seashells and waves to fully achieve the ocean theme. I also have a seashell handle and a blue background to represent the ocean. I used a lot of different colors for the shells but I mostly used a lot of different blues.

My box is a birthday cake. I used an array of colors like pink, red, and blue. I used carving to make each confetti and a message on the top. With additions being the pipping and the fruit.

The funky little bird guy is named Albert, so the box is themed around him. There’s sunflower seeds, plants and bird footprints. Albert is just a little thing I doodled on my math paper and decided I really liked. He doesn’t really have a story so I kinda just made stuff up to go with him. The hat on top is supposed to be his hat, while everything else besides the seeds is carved. He’s like a plague doctor bird.

My piece is a box that features planets, a star handle, and an astronaut helmet, all following a theme of space. The elements I used are color, shape, and form to get the theme of space across. The planets pop with color and the astronaut helmet gives the box a unique shape.

This box is a fish tank that I made using colors on the opposite side of the color wheel. I added little fish swimming around and their bubbles on the top.

My box was inspired by strawberry cake. I used colors that resembled icing and strawberries. I added the large strawberry at the top as a handle.

The box is a chicken. The chicken has simple parts that an ordinary chicken would have, such as a beak or some feet. The red comb is actually the handle of the lid. I carved the eyes and the wavy line that was supposed to look like feathers. I used simple colors that a ordinary chicken would.

My box is a tall box made to look like a metal can/box. I used gray and green and mixed it together. Then I used blue for the windows as well as dark grey for the air tubes. I also have a brown door. Lastly I added some carvings to help add detail.

The waves were supposed to look like the Japanese poster but I had a difficult time recreating it with glaze. The feet and the lid are my two additions. The feet and the boats create depth and height

I turned my box into a pumpkin. I used color to bring it to life. I used texture to add details to the side of the pumpkin, and I created vines to add more elements on the box.

My box is all based upon the hebrew word גפן (gefen) meaning grape. This is my family name so i decided to base my box off of this. I added the grapes on top and a vine that weaves all the way around box with leaves.

I decided to create a lotus flower on top of a lily pad. I also carved the sides to show fish in a pond. Then I added a dragonfly on the side too!

My piece was inspired by the ocean because it is one of my favorite places. I really like the things that can be found in the ocean. I plan to give this box to my sister because we have a lot of memories at the beach and ocean.

My Box is based off the Tim Burton movie Coraline, the button key on top is the key in the movie that opens the tunnel to the other world, and the buttons are the buttons in the movie that the other characters have for their eyes and the stars are meant to be organic and like the cartoony parts of the movie. I used shapes a lot and two shades of blue as well as gray.

For my box project, I decided to go with a snoopy house design. I carved out the lines for the house (on the top and sides) and also carved out his name and a little door in the front. For my additions I added grasses on the base on all sides and a snoopy figure on the lid. The colors I used were a dark vibrant red, darkish green, black and white. I also added the red and green on the inside aswell.

My box is inspired by Hello Kitty mainly because of the simplicity and color combination. I decided to keep it simple with the colors and be extra with the additions and textures. I only used three to four colors and let the patterns show and be creative with those instead. I only used light pinks and a deeper red with accents of red.

I used shape, texture, and color. I wanted to show a mouse getting stuck in the middle of a block of cheese.
